Rehoboth Beach, Del., December 31, 2011, 1:30 p.m. It was 60 degrees on New Year’s Eve day. People came out of the woodwork, many with their dogs, to enjoy the sun on the boards. We wandered down to the water, where a seagull was wading, unperturbed by either the frigid water or the waves.  Then we got a slice of pizza from Grotto’s and circled back for a gelato before heading home.
